PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for surely, accurately detecting the deterioration of a urethane roll in a nondestructive way. SOLUTION: Hardness of the urethane roll is measured by an indentation hardness testing method, and the deterioration of the urethane roll is surely, accurately detected from the variation rate of the hardness from a reference value which is the hardness of a new urethane roll.
