PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing unit and a color adjustment method that can effectively suppress the occurrence of pseudo contour. SOLUTION: The color signal value of a LUT 101 is converted using a prescribed function, the color signal value corresponding to an image signal is obtained by using the value after the conversion, the obtained color signal value subjected to inverse conversion; and even when a plurality of color materials are used and the color is changed in terms of gradation, the color is shifted smoothly so that the production of pseudo contour can be suppressed.
