PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reed switch that is superior in impact resistance and sensitivity and productivity. SOLUTION: In the reed switch, the reed member 5 comprises a cylindrical portion 12 and a cantilever spring portion 10, and a contact portion 14 is formed at the top end of the cantilever spring portion 10, and the contact portions 14, 14' of the two reed members 5, 5' are provided facing each other. A center of gravity 52 of the movable part of the cantilever spring portion 10 is made to be offset from a center axis X of the cantilever spring portion 10 in the direction such that the cantilever spring portions 10 act to separate the contact portions 14, 14' from each other.
