PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel pipe column construction method for correctly constructing a steel pipe column such as a concrete-filled steel pipe column on a pile head top surface of a cast-in-place pile with a weld reinforcement part eliminated by a simple means. SOLUTION: A cut hole H1 for an anchor is formed in a pile head top surface T of the cast-in-place pile C from which the weld reinforcement part C1 is eliminated at a center position where a steel pipe column 11 is to be constructed, an anchor 10 in which an adjusting plate 9 is height-adjustably disposed is installed in the cut hole H1 for an anchor, and a pile center guiding member 13 is disposed through an end plate 12 to a center position at a lower end in the steel pipe column 11. The column 11 is suspended down from above while adjusting its center position by the anchor 10 and the pile center guiding member 13 till the steel pipe column 11 is placed on the adjusting plate 9 through the end plate 12. Adjusters 8 to adjust an interval between the steel pipe column 11 and a pile head steel pipe l for adjusting verticalness of the steel pipe column 11 are disposed at plural positions at an upper end part of the pile head steel pipe 1.
