Chemiluminescent devices (10) are attached to water bottles or similar drinkwater containers (62,80,95,100) by a variety of holders (10,10a) to decoratively illuminate the content of the container (62). A thin elongated chemiluminescent charge container (84) is wound within the holder (10) and supported there so that substantially the entire periphery of the drinkwater container (62) is illuminated. The holders (10) are reusable and useful with a variety of conventional drinkwater articles.
