PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a portable telephone which can provide a calling partner in a holding state with a music of a high sound quality as holding time sounds without adding a new apparatus. SOLUTION: When a call is put into a holding state by an input operation of a key input unit 7, a music signal processing unit 10 reproduces a music stored in a memory card 11 and transmits the music to a calling partner as holding time sounds via a voice signal switching unit 3 and a wireless signal processing unit 2.
