Ceramic layer has a thickness of less than 100 microns and is obtained by sintering a starting layer with ceramic particles having an average particle size of less than 150 nm. An Independent claim is also included for a process for the production of the ceramic layer. Preferred Features: The ceramic layer has a wave-like, tooth-like, groove-like, comb-like or pyramidal structure. The ceramic particles in the starting layer have an average particle size of less than 50 nm.
