The invention relates to an add-on unit for industrial trucks, i.e. vehicles, such as, in particular, so-called fork lift trucks. The industrial trucks comprise a device, which is arranged on the front side and which has carrying elements for accommodating, lifting and transporting loads with the aid of single or several adjacent plate-shaped supports serving as transporting units. The industrial trucks also comprise holding devices, which prevent the load placed on the supports from falling off during transport. The invention provides that two or more holding or pressing elements are provided at intervals while distributed over the entire loading width of the vehicle, said loading width being formed by the transporting units. The holding or pressing elements are directly assigned to the single carrying elements (in fork lift trucks, to the carrying forks for the plate-shaped supports), and are supported by these carrying elements or by parts thereof to which they are joined in a manner that permits them to be raised and lowered.
