PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a measuring method of magnetic head capable of simultaneously measuring the distributions in the track width direction of reproduction output and the waveform property of a magnetic head to be inspected and capable of surely analyzing the performance of the magnetic head to be inspected. SOLUTION: The distribution in the track width direction of the reproduction property of a magnetic head PH with respect to plural signals different from each other is measured by running a magnetic recording medium MT on which a recording pattern divided into plural parts along the longitudinal direction having a specific track width and recorded with signals different from each other is formed on these plural parts, at a specific constant speed along the longitudinal direction and also, reproducing a recorded signal of the recording pattern while intermittently moving the magnetic head PH to be inspected in the track width direction for every specified distance.
