PENICILLIN CRYSTAL AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

Crystals of 2-methyl-2-triazolylmethylpenam-3-carboxylic acid 1,1-dioxide diphenylmethyl ester. Even when allowed to stand for 1 year at 5 to 35 DEG C, the crystals are stable and undergo substantially no decomposition or alteration. The crystals are produced by adding 2-methyl-2-triazolylmethylpenam-3-carboxylic acid 1,1-dioxide diphenylmethyl ester, represented by the formula (1), (1) (wherein Ph represents phenyl) in an oily state or amorphous powdery state or an organic solvent solution of the ester to at least one member selected among alcohols and ketones and crystallizing the 2-methyl-2-triazolylmethylpenam-3-carboxylic acid 1,1-dioxide diphenylmethyl ester.
