摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical anisotropic substance evaluating device for macroscopically, microscopically and simultaneously evaluating orientation of an optical anisotropic substance impressed with an electric field of an optical anisotropic substance-sealed cell member such as a liquid crystal cell. SOLUTION: Electrodes are arranged on an inside surface of light transmissive base boards oppositely arranged at a prescribed interval, the optical anisotropic substance-sealed cell member is brought into close contact with the electrodes, the light from one outer peripheral surface side light source is radiated to an optical anisotropic substance interface in the electrodes of the light transmissive base boards positioned on the close contact side, and a surface plasmon resonance angle is detected by a prism for making a light receiving means arranged on the other outer peripheral surface side receive the reflected light from the interface. An image of an orientation state of the optical anisotropic substance of a bulk layer of the cell member is picked up by image pickup means oppositely arranged in the cell member. A control means impresses voltage between a pair of electrodes in a prescribed period, and reads and stores an electric signal from at least the light receiving means in the reading timing in synchronism with the voltage impressing timing, and macroscopically, microscopically and simultaneously evaluates the sealed liquid crystal composition.</p>
