PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a breakwater for a sheet pile wall easy to construct and withdraw, and its construction method. SOLUTION: The breakwater 1 for the sheet pile wall comprises a rising part 2 having a rising wall for preventing the entry of waves and a base part 4 for supporting the rising part 2 on the head of the steel sheet pile wall 3. The base part 4 has a tap cut-off portion 5 of an elastic material adapted to be internally fitted to a hollow portion 3a at the upper end of one steel sheet pile and detachably and firmly fixed thereto and a latch portion 6 adapted to contact the steel sheet pile at its upper end of along the outer periphery thereof. By using the latch portion 6 to latch the wave-proof wall 1 to the upper end of the sheet pile wall and operating the cut-off portion 5 for fixation with the cut-off of water, the wave-proof wall for the sheet pile wall is constructed.
