PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a band control apparatus provided with a communication traffic control means that uniformizes a communication speed of each wireless LAN terminal in a wireless LAN provided with a wireless LAN base station and the wireless LAN terminals and to provide a traffic control method. SOLUTION: The band control apparatus provided with the traffic control means for packet communication in the wireless LAN where the wireless LAN base station (AP) connected to the LAN and the wireless LAN terminals (STA) with different communication speeds depending on the state of the communication propagation paths exist and the terminals (STA) make packet communication via the LAN, is provided with a means that stores a communication packet signal for each STA, a means that calculates a time 'T' required for the STA whose communication speed is minimum to communicate a packet signal with an optional data quantityαand a traffic control means that extracts the stored packet signal by each STA in the unit of the data quantityαand controls each STA to communication data with a data quantity of a multiple of (n) of the data quantityαfor a time of multiple of the (n) of the time 'T' at maximum.
