In a solar module that can be integrated into a roof covering there is a tray (10) with air inlet and outlet openings (23a,23b,24,25) underneath a solar panel (9). These openings use a current of air (26,27) flowing from the eaves to the roof ridge to facilitate ventilation of the tray and consequently cooling of solar cells on the underside of the solar panel.
