Airbag module for motor vehicles has rollover airbags in space between roof skin and roof lining, lowered into passenger space during rollover accident

The module has esp. a side airbag between side window and vehicle passenger/driver. The module (24) also has a rollover airbag (26), which is inflated when the vehicle rolls over during an accident, to fill the space above the seat of passenger/driver. There is one rollover airbag on either side of the vehicle, between roof skin (31) and a roof lining (32), connected to it detachable. When the airbags are inflated, the roof lining is lowered into the passenger space. The lining consists at least partially of esp. an energy absorbent foam.
