Valve comprises a valve body (2) with a valve body seat (10), and a valve needle (3) guided in the valve body with a valve needle seat (9) to control an opening (6). One of the seats is coated with an anti-wear layer. An Independent claim is also included for a fuel injector with the above valve. Preferred Features: The anti-wear layer has an upper and an adhesion-promoting intermediate layer. The upper layer has a thickness of 0.05-4, preferably 0.5-2, mu m, and is formed as a carbon-containing sliding layer. The upper layer is deposited by chemical vapor deposition (CVD), plasma-assisted (PA) CVD or plasma-enhanced (PE) CVD.
