PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for soundness diagnosis which can diagnose a system in its early stages without using expensive facilities. SOLUTION: The method and a device for quantitative diagnosis which can diagnose an abnormality of the system in its early stages by receiving and analyzing time-series data from the system by a personal computer, are characterized by that statistics of a new time-series signal obtained from the time-series signal from the system through local macroscopic operation are calculated and the soundness of the system is decided according to at least one of the distributions of the values of the statistics and parameters.
