<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal device which allows the user to use various mobile phone functions without generating electric waves in such an area as a hospital where generation of electric waves is prohibited. SOLUTION: The mobile terminal device is provided with sub-switch 34 which can turn on and off the power to be supplied to an RF section 30 of a mobile phone 1, to stop only the RF section 30 while keeping the other functions which are not linked to the communication still usable in a prohibited area, For example, when the user of the mobile phone 1 knows that he is in a prohibited area based on the present user locationϕ1 obtained from a GPS unit 19, he turns the sub-switch 34 into an off state to switch the mobile terminal device to a non-communication mode M1. In the non-communication mode M1, communication functions are not usable, but non-communication functions including reading received mails and reading downloaded contents are still usable, thus providing a mobile phone which can be used even in a prohibited area.</p> |
