PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve positioning accuracy by bringing an optical element such as a semiconductor laser and an optical waveguide into precise contact with each other. SOLUTION: An optical waveguide 13 is constituted such that the core part 131 and the clad part 132 are formed with a flexible and transparent material and that the outer frame 133 is supported with a hard material. As a result, by forming an engaging part in the hard material area, a positioning process is facilitated. In addition, since the core part 131 and the clad part 132 can be brought into contact with a semiconductor laser 12 without damaging the end faces with each other, an optical coupling loss can be reduced. |
