PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reinforce a bottom part of a damper tube, make common use capable to a car of different kind though weight is lightened of the damper tube, and ensure even concentric assembly workability of a cylinder relating to the damper tube, in a hydraulic shock absorber provided with an I-joint in a side of a bottom part outer surface of the damper tube. SOLUTION: In this bottom structure of hydraulic shock absorber 10, a reinforcing cap 50 is interposed between an inner surface of a bottom part 11A of a damper tube 11 and a bottom piece 43.
