PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiver that can automatically select a broadcast channel. SOLUTION: A P-channel unit 2 executes a channel selection program set to a prescribed P-channel on the basis of P-channel selection information received from an input section 11. A tuner/network unit 1 enables a frequency converter 1a to select a reception frequency of a program signal received by an antenna (not shown), on the basis of the channel selection information supplied from the P-channel unit 2. Thus, the prescribed broadcast channel is selected.
