<p>The invention provides a method and device for heating a body of fluid. The device includes a heat source and a shroud defining a restricted zone around the heat source. The shroud has spaced openings through which fluid can pass. The body fluid is heated by placing the heat source and shroud in the body of fluid. Fluid in the restricted zone is heated and then replaced by convection with fluid from outside the restricted zone.</p> |
