The vehicle has an engine ignition device, an ignition controler, a safety belt and a belt lock sensor for determining whether the belt lock is closed. The ignition controler is designed so that control of the ignition device is dependent on the signal from the safety belt lock sensor. Under certain conditions the ignition device is blocked if the belt lock is open.
