PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melting furnace realizing the removal of an iron component in residue and the adequate control of temperature inside a furnace. SOLUTION: A melting furnace 10 is provided with an introducing part 11 for charging heat decomposition residue, a magnetic separator 14 arranged to the introducing part 11 or on the upstream side of the introducing part 11, a furnace main body 12 melting the heat decomposition residue charged through the introducing part 11 and a heating means 13 heating the heat decomposition residue. The magnetic separator 14 removes the iron component from the heat decomposition residue charged into the introducing part 11.
