SOLUTION: A laser beam irradiating means 18, that irradiates a storage phosphor sheet S inserted into a body 22 of the image data reader 10 with a laser beam L and a condensing means 16 that condenses stimulable luminescent light emitted from the storage phosphor sheet S when the laser beam L is applied, are displaced integrally over the full width of the storage phosphor sheet S which is under the action of a displacement mechanism 20.
