PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stave which is made of a copper or a copper alloy and can stably reduce the extraction of heat. SOLUTION: In the stave whose main body 1 is made of the copper or the copper alloy, a heat insulating layer is formed between a passage 3 for cooling medium formed in the inner part of the main body and the front surface of the main body, and the passage 3 for cooling medium is arranged on the projective surface of heat insulating refractories 7 constituting the heat insulating layer.
