PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic substrate for a display element having excellent optical characteristics, more particularly transparency, heat resistance and gas barrier properties. SOLUTION: This plastic substrate for the display element includes the fluorine-contained aryl ether ketone expressed by formula (I) and/or the polycyanoaryl ether expressed by formula (III).
