<p>The present invention relates to a bleed member (30) provided in a bleed valve assembly (20) having a wall member (22) defining a fluid chamber (24) for retaining a fluid therein. The bleed member (30) has an aperture (32) defined in the wall member (22) and a flexible sealing member (36) located inside the fluid chamber (24) for selectively covering and sealing the aperture (32). According to the present invention, in a preloading state, the flexible sealing member (36) covers and seals the aperture (32) and, in a venting state, the sealing member (36) is forced to be unseated from the aperture (32) to vent fluid from the valve member (20). The wall member (22) is preferably flexible and the sealing member (36) may be formed of a material which is flexible and conforms to the shape and configuration of the wall member (22) to seal the aperture (32).</p> |
