PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that workability in underlaying an optical fiber cable in a concrete structure is difficult and that the underlaying in the surface of concrete damages appearance by cutting the surface of the concrete structure, etc. SOLUTION: In the sheet-shaped distortion sensor for verifying the progress of damage in the concrete structure, one end of a mesh-shaped or folded optical fiber cable is drawn out, arranged, and fixed onto a sheet-shaped material. By gluing the sheet-shape distortion sensor to the surface of the concrete structure by an adhesive and measuring distortion through the use of the one end of the optical fiber cable drawn out from between the sheet-shaped material, the progress of damage is verified in the method for verifying the progress of damage in the concrete structure.
