PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Cardan universal joint capable of fitting a key and a key groove by clearance fit without producing a key clearance in connecting a bearing cup and a yoke, preventing the fretting, the corrosion or the like, and preventing the fracturing of a bolt. SOLUTION: A groove 1b is formed on a key 1a on the bearing cup side in fastening the bearing cup 1 and the yoke 2, the key 1a and the key groove 2a on the yoke side are fitted by clearance fit, the groove 1b formed on the key 1a is provided with a fitting 5 having inclined faces 5a and 5b on upper and lower part of one side face, a wedge fitting 6 and a key expanding member 4 composed of a fastening bolt 7 and a nut 8, and the key 1a is elastically deformed to leave no clearance between the key 1a and the key groove 2a.
