PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for repairing a lance by which, in the case of repairing the lance composed of a core metal and a refractory covering the outer surface of the core metal by reutilizing the upper portion thereof, not only the advantage of handling can be obtained but also the service life of the lance can be extended. SOLUTION: In the repairing method of the lance which is composed of a core metal 4 and a refractory 6 covering the outer surface of this core metal and used for blowing powdery material or gas on or into molten metal or molten slag, the lance 1 used at least once is cut off to divide the lance into two pieces in the longitudinal direction thereof, and the core metal 4 of the lance 2 at the divided upper side and a core metal 5 of a lance 3 at the premanufactured lower side are welded and joined, and a refractory 8 is lined on the outer periphery of the core metal at the welded part 11.
