A method of forwarding Internet originating charge information from an Internet merchant (11) to an SS7 charging point (7) of a PSTN 5, the charge information relating to a connection established between a user (1) and the merchant (11) via the PSTN 5. The method comprises notifying a charging engine (8) of the IP address allocated to the user (1), and notifying the charging engine (8) of the CIC of a circuit allocated for the call and terminating at the charging point (7). The CIC is associated with the IP address at the charging engine (8). Charging information from the merchant (11) is sent to the charging engine (8) via the Internet (4), the charging information being accompanied by the IP address allocated to the user (1). At the charging engine (8), the CIC associated with the received IP address is identified, and the charging information, accompanied by the identified CIC, is forwarded to the charging point (7).
