<p>A fuel feed device forming a housing including a fuel flow passage by thermally welding a synthetic resin-made upper housing to a lower housing at the connecting end faces thereof, wherein contact ribs (3b, 13b) one stage lower than the connecting end faces (3a, 13a) and opposed to each other are provided through space grooves (3c, 13c), along the connecting end faces (3a, 13a) of the upper housing (3) and lower housing (13), both contact ribs (3b, 13b) are fused and pressed against each other so as to be brought into contact with each other, and the vertical dimension of the housing (11) is determined by the contact ribs (3b, 13b) and, in addition, burrs (21) are left in a reservoin space (22) closed by the contact ribs (3b, 13b) at the time of completion of thermal welding, whereby such conventional troubles are eliminate that the burrs, produced at the weld part by extrusion of molten end parts, undergo variations in size and shape depending on the molten state of the connecting end faces and the amount of pressuring movement to cause variations in the finished vertical dimensions of the housings, or burrs, trapped into the fuel flow passage, may reduce the area of the flow passage to increase a flow passage resistance and make weark portions of the burrs to fall down due to fatigue failure caused by the pulsation of fuel flow leading to the clogging of a downstream side piping.</p> |
