PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique which facilitates the alignment of optical parts of an illumination optical system. SOLUTION: The illumination optical system has a light source device, a lens array for splitting the ray flux emitted from the light source device to plural partial ray fluxes and a superposition optical system for superposing the plural partial ray fluxes onto a prescribed illumination region. The two or more optical parts among the plural optical parts arranged in an optical path from the light source device to the superposition optical system are mounted at a base frame having plural mounting parts for defining their positions.
