<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a cooling technology for restricting loss and wear of a furnace wall operation at various kinds of molten metal reaction furnace. SOLUTION: A furnace wall operating surface 3, i.e., a portion where a furnace wall 2 contacts with a reaction product in the furnace or high temperature gas is constructed of highly thermal conductive structure and cooling fluid is flowed, whereby a cooling of the furnace wall itself is strengthened, a substantial amount of proper cooling fluid 51 is supplied to the furnace wall operating surface 3 and the region near inside part of the furnace at the operating surface to cause (1) the protection layer formed by the cooling fluid 51 to be made at the surface of the furnace wall operating surface 3. As the supplying system for the cooling fluid 51, (1) a method for injecting the cooling fluid from a water-cooled lance arranged above inside the furnace or from the upper inner wall of the furnace, and (2) a method in which the cooling fluid is injected from the fluid passage passing through the furnace wall from the rear part of the furnace wall operating surface toward the front part of the furnace wall operating surface are carried out.</p> |
