摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode active material of a lithium secondary battery to improve thermal stability without greatly deteriorating a high initial discharging capacity, its manufacturing method, and a battery using it. SOLUTION: The positive electrode active material is one for a lithium ion secondary battery having a surface layer including at least titanium with the thickness of 0.5 to 100 nm on the surface of lithium complex oxide powder which can store and discharge lithium ion. A recommended manufacturing method is to coat the surface of lithium complex oxide which can store and discharge Li ion with an organic compound including at least Ti and put in under a thermal treatment at around 200 deg.C to 900 deg.C, and the battery is a lithium secondary battery using the positive electrode active material obtained.
