PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal device in which operability in a key input is improved when an operating mode is switched into a copy mode and a fax mode. SOLUTION: In an operation panel 1, a copy/fax switching key 20E is provided in a cover 20X. A one-touch key for registering a destination of a fax communication is disposed below the cover 20X. When the key 20E is operated in a state of closing the cover 20X, a communication destination designation by the one-touch key is not conducted, and an operating mode is switched into a copy mode or fax mode. When a one-touch key 20Y is operated in a state of releasing the cover 20X, a designation of the communication destination, etc., is conducted. A function of the copy/fax switching key is allocated to an arbitrary key, and it is possible to switch the mode in a state of releasing the cover 20X also.
