PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving circuit and method capable of increasing the range of output voltage. SOLUTION: This driving circuit or method, which is provided with a first circuit device, a second circuit device and an output device, is constituted of a process in which a first prescribed state is generated at the output port of the first circuit device or a first output signal is generated at the output port and is controlled within a first voltage range limited by a first voltage power source and a second voltage power source based on a selection signal, a process in which a second prescribed state is generated at the output port of the second circuit device or a second output signal is generated at the output port and is controlled within a second voltage range limited by a third voltage power source and a fourth voltage power source based on the selection signal, and a process in which when the output port of the first circuit device generates the first prescribed state and the second circuit device outputs the second output signal, the output device outputs the second output voltage, and when first circuit device outputs the first output signal and the output port of the second circuit device generates the second prescribed state, the output device outputs the first output signal.
