<p>A slider (3) use in connection with a hard disk (7) is provided that includes a surface. A plurality of asperities (5) are included where each of the plurality of asperities (5) extend from the surface of slider (3) at the bottom portion and contact the hard disk (7) at the top portion. The top portion of each of the plurality of asperities have a contact area and the bottom portion of each of the plurality of asperities having a surface area. The plurality of asperities are dimension and shaped to from a deterministic pattern on the surface of the slider. Also, the contact area of the top portion for each of the plurality of asperities is less than the surface area of the bottom portion of each of the plurality of asperities.</p> |
