Mechanical disintegration of biogenic sewage sludge comprises treating a stream of sludge in a treatment chamber (1) with a rotating head (6) with longitudinal slots (10) and vanes (11). An Independent claim is also included for the use of the head in mechanical disintegration of biogenic sewage sludge.
