PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer carrying device and an image forming apparatus, equipped with the carrying device capable of reducing the soiling by toner on the surface of a transfer material by properly removing the toner adhering to an electrode member for attracting the transfer material. SOLUTION: By applying a voltage from a power pack 65a to an attraction roller 65 functioning as the electrode member for attracting the transfer material, charge is given to transfer paper 100, passing through an opposed part between the roller 65 and a transfer transport belt 60, so as to electrostatically attract the transfer paper 100 to the belt 60 in this transfer transport device, where the power pack 65a is constituted, so that the polarity of the applied voltage to the roller 65 can be switched, and controlled so that a positive voltage and a negative voltage is applied to the roller 65 alternately. |
