PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a circuit board on which a film carrier can be fixed with reliability when it is aligned and with which the board can be downsized. SOLUTION: Dummy areas 9 which can be separated by a cutting sections 8 having cutoff dotted lines are provided on the circuit board 7 where the film carrier 6 is not overlapped, for example at both ends in the lengthwise direction of the board. When the circuit board 7 and the film carrier 6 are aligned, the circuit board 7 can be fixed with reliability by pressing the dummy areas 9 by clampers 10 and a high aligning accuracy can be obtained. Further, after connecting the film carrier 6, the outer shape of the circuit board 7 can be downsized by separating the dummy areas 9. The liquid crystal display device can be downsized by using the circuit board 7.
