A pressure regulator (10) includes a body (14) having an inlet (20) and a pressure regulating chamber (28). A high pressure fluid circuit (26) extends between the inlet (20) and the pressure regulating chamber (28). The circuit (26) includes at least two longitudinally extending high pressure passages (30,31) in fluid communication with each other. One passage (30) transmits the fluid in a first direction, and the other passage (31) transmits the fluid in a second direction different from the first direction.
