PURPOSE: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) monitor is provided to reduce the entire thickness and weight of a monitor as well as to increase the brightness of a monitor. CONSTITUTION: An LCD monitor consists of a light guide plate(301) providing a backlight to an LCD panel, a main support member(302) supporting the light guide plate and constituting the base frame structure of an LCD monitor, and plural backlight lamps(303) mounted at the four corners of the light guide plate. Rectangular slits(301h) having specific width and depth are formed at two diagonal corners of the four corners, and stoppers(302s) are formed at two corners of the main support member. The light guide plate is combined with the main support member by the slits and the stoppers. The thickness of the light guide plate is reduced a half as large as the thickness of the former light guide plate. The entire thickness of the LCD monitor is reduced proportionally. In addition, the entire weight of the LCD monitor is reduced.
