PURPOSE: A method for the automatic landing of a reclaimer by using a short-distance sensor is provided to accurately land a reclaimer on a reclaiming start point without a collision or a contact by correcting the error at the reclaiming start point. CONSTITUTION: A three-dimensional shape of a material pile(30) is detected by using a three-dimensional shape detector. A reclaiming start point(P) is outputted from the detected shape. A reclaiming landing point(P') is set up by subtracting a unit travel distance(dx) from the reclaiming start point. A reclaimer is placed on the reclaiming start point. The reclaimer is moved within a reclaiming range. If a reclaiming unit(14) is placed between the reclaiming start point and a reclaiming finish point, the reclaiming unit is orbited to the end of the material pile. A distance(dl) between the reclaiming units to the material pile is outputted. The reclaimer is landed on an actual reclaiming start point(Ps).
