SILICA GEL CONTAINING MIXED INDICATORS AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PURPOSE: Provided is a silica gel containing mixed indicators which makes it possible for a viewer to monitor the progress of water absorbed to the silica gel with his naked eyes and which can be prepared in a simple method. CONSTITUTION: The silica gel containing mixed indicators is produced by preparing a silica gel and incorporating mixed indicators having a discoloring region in an acid condition to the silica gel in an acid condition. The acid condition can be achieved by using the silica gel as produced or by adding an additional acid solution after washing the produced silica gel. The mixed indicators includes a mixture of methyl orange and bromocresol green or a mixture of methyl red and bromocresol green. By using this silica gel, the progress of water absorbed to the silica gel can be readily judged by a viewer.
