LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

PURPOSE: To provide a liquid crystal display device which can prevent disclination and increase the luminance by making the response fast and the aperture rate high. CONSTITUTION: This device has a couple of opposite substrates and liquid crystal sandwiched between the substrates and one substrate is equipped with gate lines 2 and signal lines 6 which cross each other almost at right angle, TFTs 5 provided nearby their intersections, and pixel electrodes 7 which are formed alternately and in parallel at respective pixels encircled with the gate lines and signal lines and have more than one crooked point and a common electrode 3; and the pixel electrodes 7 and common electrode 3 are both formed of bent parts and projection parts 9b projecting from the projection-side peak parts of the bent parts to recessed parts of the opposite electrodes and the projection parts stabilize the electric field nearby the bent parts and increase the electric field intensity to improve visual field characteristics and response characteristics.
