<p>In this magnetic tape cassette, a pair of takeup hubs around which a magnetic tape is wound, is accommodated into a casing constituted by upper and lower halves through sheets on both sides thereof. A height positional limitation rib is on a contact surface between the lower half and tape takeup rings of the takeup hubs or a thickened portion over the full surface near an tape outlet of the lower half in which the sheet is not provided. Further, a contact between the takeup hubs and the upper and lower halves is formed by elastic material or a member into which elastic material is inserted. Further, clearances between the takeup hubs and the upper and lower halves in vertical horizontal directions are limited to predetermined values. Further, antistatic agent is impregnated onto the sheet. The tape running position, especially, level of the height is easily limited, set and adjusted without fail to make it possible to stabilize the tape running. Further, a part of a side wall of the lower half is cut, resulting increasing a winding-in area of the tape and to increase capacitance of storage without increasing the cassette size.
