Production of closed sterile packaging units out of two material strips joined by longitudinal and transverse welds comprises applying specific amounts of highly concentrated acid at specific intervals to one of the strips directly before joining. The acid introduced into the packaging units ensures that characteristics e.g. pH of subsequent contents remain unaltered. An Independent claim is also included for an apparatus comprising a means for application of a highly concentrated acid. |
