Arrangement of brake resistances

The arrangement of load rheostats (braking resistances) includes cooling facility. The load rheostats (1) at least have cooling provided during braking (retardation) of a vehicle. Besides the intrinsic cooling of the load rheostats, external ventilation, on the basis of convection flow (3), is provided transversely to the convection flow and thus reinforces the transverse air stream ventilation. The transverse air stream runs specifically parallel to the travel plane.
